The team assessed the Medtronic Affinity Fusion Oxygenator for Extracorporeal CO2 Removal by characterizing its effectiveness at removing excess CO2 from blood. The team conducted CO2 removal experiments while maintaining requisite oxygen levels and without inducing adverse biological responses.
