The Help Desk and all other areas of CIS will be closed throughout the holiday and, for the most part, CIS staff will not be working. However, the services and network equipment do not take a break.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the closure:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1) We will be monitoring CIS systems and a few staff will be on call to deal with system or network problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2) In the event that we see problems with one of our services, we have plans in place to engage CIS staff to deal with them. Priority will be given to core services:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Google Workspace (email, calendar, file storage other Google services)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Microsoft365 (email, calendar, file storage, other Microsoft services)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">VPN<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HMC Credentials (including Duo and Admission applicant credentials)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sakai<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CX and JICs Portal\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cognos<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">College Website<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Workday<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Network &#8211; wired<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Network &#8211; wireless<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3) Issues with other services will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the severity of the issue, they may have to wait until the next business day, Thursday, January 5th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4) Should an issue related to CIS servers or the campus network arise during the holidays, we will in all likelihood be notified by one of our monitoring systems. If we are aware of a problem, we will post a status notification on the Help Desk voicemail (909 607 7777). Please check the voicemail if you notice a problem with one of our services. If the problem persists; you believe it is server or network related, and we appear not to know about it, please call campus safety at 909-607-2000.
