Connecting to Claremont-WPA provides the benefits of WPA2-Enterprise security and allows for accessing most internal HMC resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You authenticate with your HMC username followed by @hmc.edu (for example, h&#109;udd&#64;&#104;&#109;&#99;.edu) and HMC password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"claremont-wpa-android\"><strong>Additional Android \/ Linux settings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If connecting to Claremont-WPA with an Android or Linux device, it may ask for additional information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>EAP method<\/strong>: PEAP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Phase 2 authentication<\/strong>: MSCHAPv2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>System certificate<\/strong>: &#8220;Do not verify&#8221; or &#8220;Use system certificate&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Domain<\/strong>: hmc.edu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Identity<\/strong>: Your HMC username followed by @hmc.edu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Anonymous identity<\/strong>: Leave blank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Password<\/strong>: Your HMC password<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"claremont-wpa-password-resync\"><strong>Having issues signing into Claremont-WPA with your credentials?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a new student, faculty, or staff at HMC, there is a chance your credentials will not work when authenticating into Claremont-WPA, even when you&#8217;re sure you&#8217;re entering the correct HMC username and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help resolve this issue, please try the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/identity.hmc.edu\/\">identity.hmc.edu<\/a> and log in with your HMC credentials. Once you log in, you&#8217;ll see your name on the top right. Click that to open a drop-down menu.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Change Password<\/strong> and then reset your password.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your current password, then re-enter the same HMC password for your new password and verification (in other words, enter your same password all three times).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Try logging into Claremont-WPA.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If this doesn&#8217;t help, it might be a device issue. If so, please <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1fNBb1mUEBzRjgK1_0FJEzb1QP31hAwhuh4ibPv8tDfM\/viewform?edit_requested=true\">submit a request for wireless help<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"claremont-guest\">Claremont-Guest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This network has been specifically designed to provide seamless and secure internet access to our visitors while maintaining the integrity of our internal network. <strong>If you are a staff, faculty, or student at HMC, please use Claremont-WPA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To join Claremont-Guest, select Claremont-Guest on your device&#8217;s wi-fi settings, and enter a valid email address. You may refer to this <a href=\"https:\/\/cucclaremont.box.com\/s\/vs3ad4t0xqdrljogpbzq11yclpcbu26c\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/cucclaremont.box.com\/s\/vs3ad4t0xqdrljogpbzq11yclpcbu26c\">TCCS documentation<\/a> for additional help on joining Claremont-Guest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key features of&nbsp;Claremont-Guest&nbsp;include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ease of Access<\/strong>: Guests can easily connect to&nbsp;Claremont-Guest&nbsp;without the need for complicated authentication processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Security<\/strong>: We understand the importance of safeguarding our network against potential threats.&nbsp;Claremont-Guest&nbsp;employs robust security measures to protect both our guests and our organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"claremont-etc\">Claremont-ETC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Claremont-ETC wireless network is designed for use by older devices that do not support WPA2-Enterprise authentication. The Claremont-ETC network is inherently less secure because it involves a shared password.&nbsp; Do not use Claremont-ETC if you can use Claremont-WPA or Eduroam instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have HMC credentials and need to connect to Claremont-ETC please use our <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/RqcEGQQe44ecE7nBA\">Claremont-ETC Password Request<\/a> form (you must be signed into your @g.hmc.edu to view it). If you don&#8217;t have HMC credentials please contact the CIS Help Desk to obtain the current password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"eduroam\">Eduroam<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Eduroam (education wireless roaming) allows users (researchers, teachers, students, staff) from participating institutions to securely access the Internet from any Eduroam-enabled institution. In other words, your HMC credentials will work at other institutions to get you access to secure wireless networks and other resources. It requires authentication with your HMC credentials username followed by @hmc.edu and HMC credentials password upon connection. If you are visiting from another campus, you will need to enter your home campus credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eduroam principle is based on the fact that the user\u2019s authentication is done by the user\u2019s home institution, whereas the authorization decision allowing access to the network resources is done by the visited network. A full list of participating institutions can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eduroam.us\/institutions_list\">Eduroam&#8217;s website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Availability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Claremont-WPA and Claremont-ETC are available to faculty, staff, students, emeritus, and trustees at HMC and all of The Claremont Colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eduroam is also available to all those previously listed as well as visitors from other institutions who have Eduroam configured at their home institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guests who do not have access to Eduroam should contact the Help Desk for the Claremont-ETC password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Access the Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Access the appropriate wireless settings pane on the device to be connected and select the appropriate network for the use case.
