Microsoft Defender provides real-time protection against viruses, ransomware, spyware, and other types of malicious software. It continuously monitors your device, files, and online activities to detect and block threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Availability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Available to HMC faculty and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Access the Service<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the CIS Help Desk will need to install Defender for faculty and staff. We will install it for all new faculty and staff computers and help transition any older computers from Trend Micro Apex One to Microsoft Defender. Please reach out to the help desk at <a href=\"mailto:he&#108;&#112;d&#101;sk&#64;&#104;mc&#46;e&#100;u\">h&#101;&#108;&#112;&#100;e&#115;&#107;&#64;&#104;mc.&#101;du<\/a> for any questions on installing Microsoft Defender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can download the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365\/microsoft-defender-for-individuals\">MS Defender security app<\/a> and sign in with your HMC credentials on up to 5 devices at a time.
