At Harvey Mudd College, we use the <strong>Cisco Secure Client<\/strong> (formally known as the <strong>AnyConnect<\/strong> client).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VPN is only required for a small set of services, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On-premise file servers\/shares (e.g., TempStorage)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial Aid PowerFAIDS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cognos<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OnBase<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CX Servers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> VPN is <strong>not<\/strong> required for Library resources, Google Workspace, HMC email, the Portal, Canvas, or Workday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Availability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Available to all faculty, students, staff, and emeritus at HMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Access the Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Download the Cisco Secure Client<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/vmfa.claremont.edu\/CACHE\/stc\/2\/index.html\">TCCS Cisco Secure Client portal<\/a> (accessible over Claremont-WPA and Claremont-ETC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>GROUP<\/strong>, select <strong>HMC<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the login screen, click <strong>Login<\/strong> to be redirected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your <strong>HMC credentials<\/strong> in the Rapid Identity login window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once authenticated, you\u2019ll be taken to a download page. The correct installer for your operating system will be detected automatically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Download<\/strong> and run the installer.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For additional details, click <strong>Instructions<\/strong> in the lower-right of the download page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Log in to VPN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Cisco Secure Client.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect to: <strong>vpn.claremont.edu<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Group<\/strong> drop-down, select <strong>Harvey Mudd College<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your <strong>HMC credentials<\/strong> in the Rapid Identity window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approve the <strong>Duo authentication<\/strong> prompt.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You are now connected to HMC\u2019s VPN!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.
