As associate director in the Office of Career Services, Paul Hardister manages employer recruitment, and cultivates and maintains effective employer relations. Hardister serves as the initial point of contact for employers seeking to recruit Harvey Mudd undergraduate students for employment or internships. In addition, Hardister counsels students regarding their career goals by answering questions about all phases of the job search as well as graduate school planning. He helps students prepare written materials and provides feedback on resumes, cover letters, graduate school essays, personal statements and various application materials. He also conducts case interviews for students interested in consulting. Hardister supports events and programs, including career fairs and the “Beyond the Bubble” series.
Hardister joins the Office of Career Services with over 10 years of experience in higher education and career services. Prior to joining Harvey Mudd, Hardister served as the director of the Office of Career Management at Claremont Graduate University, where he managed employer relations and counseled students in a variety of fields, including business and information technology. He organized career programs, including networking events and career fairs and led workshops covering topics such as using job and internship search, LinkedIn and case interviews. He also has worked as a career counselor at Occidental College. In addition to his experience in career services, Paul was an admissions representative for graduate programs at George Washington University and taught introductory math courses at Wake Technical Community College.
Hardister earned his B.A. in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from George Washington University.
