Jonie Tsuji is a career counselor at the Office of Career Services. As a career counselor, Jonie works with students individually in all aspects of career counseling: career exploration, internship/job search, interview practice, salary negotiation, and the graduate school application process. She also presents workshops on resume writing, interviewing, working a career fair, creating a LinkedIn profile, and applying to graduate school. Jonie has over 15 years of experience working with undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral scholars.
Jonie joined the Office of Career Services in September 2012. Prior to coming to Harvey Mudd, Jonie worked for 11 years at Caltech. In addition to career counseling and presenting workshops, she organized and oversaw all aspects of the Caltech career fairs, as well as work with faculty to coordinate the Japan Internship Program. Her extensive work with STEM students helped Jonie adjust well at Harvey Mudd!
In addition to working at Harvey Mudd, Jonie also works as an independent career consultant for the graduate programs at Cedars Sinai and the City of Hope. At both schools, she works with the graduate students and postdoctoral scholars on issues involving completing their PhD, and getting positions (whether it is in academia or industry) after they finish their education.
Jonie has a B.A. in psychology with a business emphasis from UCLA, a human resources management certificate from UCLA Extension, and an M.S. in college counseling student services from Cal State University, Northridge. Jonie is a nationally certified counselor.
