A new technology from RECSOLU allowed the Office of Career Services to securely transmit a candidate’s profile information and resume from a name badge to a recruiter’s mobile device. Recpass, which uses the latest QR code technology, was well received at the spring Career Fair.

Web 91 RECSOLU provided free iPads to employers who signed up before or during the fair. Based on employer survey feedback as well as student attendee comments, the technology was well received. Thus, OCS plans to use Recpass again at the Fall Career Fair scheduled for Friday, October 3, 2014.  One of best outcomes from using the new technology was statistics OCS was able to generate within a few hours of the event.

There were 59 organizations represented and many of these were new to HMC Career Fair. Web 90

Out of the 449 student attendees, 284 were from Harvey Mudd, with computer science and engineering majors making up the majority of students. There were 129 seniors, 107 juniors, 118 sophomores and 80 first year students.

Half the employers used the new RECSOLU technology and 935 resumes were scanned using the iPads.

Web 77A designated student lounge allowed students to refresh themselves and review materials during the event. Read two stories from HMC students – Stepping into the Real World and 2014 Spring Career Fair.

Thanks again to all our employers, the great team from RECSOLU, our volunteers and campus staff for making this such a successful event.
