To solve global, complex and urgent problems, Mudders need a physical environment that mirrors their own excellence and interdisciplinary nature. To lead in this new era, Harvey Mudd is creating a facility that removes the physical barriers to collaboration, allowing faculty and students to move from theory to prototype at the speed of thought. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This state-of-the-art academic building is key to our moonshot and is designed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support interdisciplinary research, curricula, and hands-on learning <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve as home to the Innovation Accelerator and other initiatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empower students and faculty to transcend disciplinary boundaries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide modern physics and chemistry laboratories and drive new, collaborative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>House prototyping laboratories, classrooms, faculty offices, and new centers and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>institutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Host partnerships, offering industry and nonprofit partners access to a high-tech<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>environment to co-create solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This building and its programs will be the engine driving the next generation of Mudd breakthroughs\u2014across AI, sustainability, climate science, entrepreneurship, energy, transportation, and more. It will also be a model and laboratory for our community\u2019s<br>commitment to a climate-resilient future. With this foundation, Harvey Mudd will not only stay competitive, it will lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through generous initial support, the College has begun the architectural planning process as our community comes together to envision the interdisciplinary science and engineering possibilities for this project through the launch of a new Innovation<br>Accelerator for Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering. Work is underway to examine possible locations and building needs.
