Galileo Auditoria Renovation
Please, Have a Seat
Since the early 1970s, the Galileo Auditoria have served the College well, hosting countless classes, roster signings, guest lecturers and many College and community events. All that activity—in addition to the sheer passage of time—has taken its toll. The Harvey Mudd community was excited last year to learn that it’s time for this aging facility to be reborn. In May 2016, we began extensive renovations of the auditoria, completely gutting the space, including the lobby and ancillary rooms. These will be replaced with a brighter, more modern facility that will still retain a similar function to our beloved Galileo Hall.
As part of this yearlong Galileo renovation, the College invites you to become part of the future of this exciting new facility. Because we are replacing nearly 600 seats, we invite the Harvey Mudd College community to directly support this project with a gift that will provide you the opportunity to select and name one or more of the new seats.
To select your seats, visit our Galileo Auditoria Seat Chooser, where you can select up to four specific seats. You also may choose how you would like to be recognized with a personalized plaque in your name, in honor or memory of a loved one, faculty member or friend, or in commemoration of an important anniversary or life event. Please note that discounted rates are available for current faculty, staff and students, as well as for young alumni (1 to 9 years out) depending on graduation year.
Recognizing Your Gift
Your tax-deductible gift will be commemorated with an inscribed plaque placed on the back of the seat(s) you select. These plaques will include the personalized recognition of your gift, while also signifying your support of this project and the important work being done by Harvey Mudd College’s faculty, students and staff.
