The Harvey Mudd Office of Alumni & Parent Relations presents the virtual discussion series Mudd Talks. Andy Hoffer '70 is the lead inventor and founder of Lungpacer Medical Inc. He'll discuss why diaphragm pacing can help patients at risk of failure to wean from mechanical ventilation. This event is open to everyone, including students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni.

Hoffer holds advanced degrees in physics and biophysics. He is a professor of biomedical physiology and kinesiology and director of the Neurokinesiology Laboratory at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada.
