Emily Kim

I am a student at Harvey Mudd majoring in joint computer science-math. I started playing piano at the age of five and have had an unbreakable relationship with music ever since. In addition to piano, I play cello and also sing as a soprano. After years of training in classical music, I stopped playing classical music for six years but started playing again during my senior year at HMC. I desire to continue my practices in music as I move on with my life after graduation. After college, I will continue to pursue my learning and research by enrolling into a PhD program at Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute. I would like to thank my piano instructor Tatiana Thibodeaux, my family and my friends. They gave me lots of support when I decided to start playing piano again as well as preparing for this recital.

Ivy Liu

Ivy is a senior majoring in joint computer science-math with a music concentration. She began her musical training at the age of 4 when she learned to play the piano. Soon after, she picked up the flute and instantly fell in love with it. Ever since, she has been performing with various ensembles, including her school bands and the youth symphony orchestra in China. During her four years at Mudd, Ivy has been a member of the Pomona Concert Orchestra and also studies flute with Rachel Rudich at Pomona College. After graduating, she will become a software engineer at Facebook.
