ESW/Moss and the Hixon Center are proud to announce the following event:

How Engineers, Scientists, and Activists Can Stop the Blame and Move toward a Low-Carbon Future

As President and CEO of Future 500, Bill Shireman cultivates open dialogue between the world’s leading brands and environmental advocates, foundations and NGOs. He is a prolific author and speaker on the art and science of finding common ground between uncommon allies. Shireman has a long track record in breaking down ideological barriers between political parties, uniting conservatives and progressives, and above all, combating institutionalized demonization through productive dialogue.
Shireman united Coors, Safeway and the Sierra Club to design and pass California’s “bottle bill” recycling law, the lowest-cost and most effective in the nation. He united Mitsubishi and Rainforest Action Network to work together to save rainforests from North America to Malaysia. He brought together Coca-Cola and Genocide Intervention Network to help promote peace in the Sudan. Most recently, Shireman has been key in organizing the Earth Day 50 Challenge, a meeting of top brands, policymakers and environmental groups in finding shared, actionable goals toward protecting our oceans, forests and climate.
