 el About Learning CS\,” Colleen Lewis
DESCRIPTION:The K–12 through college CS pipeline is full of barriers whic
 h prevent broader participation in the field. Colleen Lewis will describe 
 some of her research to try to identify or remove some of those barriers. 
 She’ll also share ways that people can advocate for policies and practic
 es that can broaden participation in CS.\n\nLewis is an associate professo
 r of CS at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From 2012 to 20
 20\, she was a member of the CS faculty at Harvey Mudd. In addition to her
  research\, she curates CSTeachingTips.org\, an NSF-sponsored project for 
 disseminating effective CS teaching practices.\n\n&nbsp\;
