September 8, 2021 Add to Calendar

5–6 p.m.

The Harvey Mudd Office of Alumni & Parent Relations presents the virtual discussion series Mudd Talks.

Ben Stanphill '08 (engineering) will give an introduction to public repositories of hazardous waste cleanup projects in California and an overview of environmental remediation with a focus on toxic chemicals in soil, groundwater, and indoor air. He will also share thoughts on pursuing a career in consulting and how Harvey Mudd’s unique educational philosophy prepares graduates for careers that straddle multiple disciplines.

Stanphill graduated from Harvey Mudd College with every intention of doing anything but engineering. Thirteen years later he is a senior civil engineer focusing on environmental remediation with Arcadis, a global design and consultancy firm based in the Netherlands.
