The first SUS+X speaker event of the semester! Mudd alums Priya Donti ‘15 and Lucy Kaye ‘17, and Professor Julie Medero will talk about their experiences in and pathways to careers in environmental sustainability. This panel event is a great opportunity to ask panelists any career and sustainability-related questions you have.
Julie Medero is assistant professor of computer science at Harvey Mudd College. Her research integrates ideas from computer science, linguistics and electrical engineering to develop new applications of natural language processing to the area of literacy education. She also does work with local environmental groups and is an EEA advisor.
Lucy Kaye graduated from Harvey Mudd in 2017 with a B.S. in engineering and from Stanford in 2019 with an M.S. in mechanical engineering. During her time at Mudd, she served as the co-president of SWE. She currently works as a test engineer at Mainspring Energy in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Priya Donti is the co-founder and chair of Climate Change AI. She works with combining machine learning, electric power systems and climate change mitigation. She graduated Mudd in 2015 with a B.S. in computer science and math with an emphasis in environmental analysis. She is now a PhD student in computer science and public policy at Carnegie Mellon University.
