SUMMARY:A Bite of Learning: An Introduction to Iris\, HMC's New On-prem Com
 puting Resource
DESCRIPTION:Iris is a new computing resource for the HMC community\, fillin
g the gap between a personal computer and a high-performance computing clu
ster. Through custom virtual machines\, Iris offers flexibility in the sof
tware and configuration available for a project. This gives researchers an
other option for building a computing environment around their workflow. I
n this session\, Nic Dodds\, research computing specialist\, will introduc
e Iris\, explain where it fits among HMC’s research computing resources\
, and discuss potential uses and how to get started.
