Winter Break Closure (2022)

The Office of Admission will close for winter break at 5 pm (PST) on Friday, December 16th. We will open at 8 am (PST) on Thursday, January 5th.

This is a longer break than we typically have to allow our staff well-deserved time with their families and friends and to manage a scheduled power outage in early January.  Please see below for additional information.

  • Emails to admission@hmc.edu will be checked regularly throughout the break. Please be patient as you may not receive an immediate response. However, we will be sure to respond to any questions in plenty of time for you to complete your application.
  • During our winter break we will not be able to respond to our phone messages.
  • The only part of your application that must be received by 11:59 PM in your local time zone on January 5th is your Common Application.  Any supporting material from your school and/or your recommenders may arrive with a couple of weeks after our deadline and will still receive full consideration. Please do not panic or contact your school or recommenders if their submissions have not yet been received. They have plenty of time to submit their recommendations and your transcript(s). They deserve a break too!
  • On Wednesday, January 4th from 2:30 – 5 PM PST, we will be offering an application Hackathon where members of our staff will be available to answer any last-minute questions about your application.  The zoom link for the Hackathon can be found here.
