This fall, Harvey Mudd College welcomes 210 exceptional students into the incoming Class of 2024.<\/p>\n
“Our welcome of incoming first-year students and their families will have to be a virtual one this fall due to the pandemic, but we know that our faculty, staff, students and their families will do all they can to make them feel a part of their new community,” says Maria Klawe, president of Harvey Mudd College.<\/p>\n
In terms of geographic distribution, students come from 28 states (42.8% from California) and Washington, D.C., as well as eight countries outside the United States: Brazil, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Kenya, South Korea and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
The entering class is 29% Asian, 21% Latinx, 21.9% White, 9.5% who identify as multiracial, 3.8% African or African-American, and 6.7% are international students. First-generation students make up 11% of the class. Women comprise 47%, one of the highest gender ratios of any science- and engineering-focused institution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
