{"id":796,"date":"2013-04-22T09:00:20","date_gmt":"2013-04-22T16:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newwww.hmc.edu\/about-hmc\/?p=796"},"modified":"2014-03-17T11:01:33","modified_gmt":"2014-03-17T18:01:33","slug":"presentation-days-displays-student-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/about\/2013\/04\/22\/presentation-days-displays-student-research\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation Days Displays Student Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-797\" alt=\"presentation-days-1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/05\/presentation-days-1.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"133\" \/>More than 300 students will present their research results May 6 and 8, during the 43rd Annual Presentation Days at Harvey Mudd College.<\/p>\n<p>The free, public event provides a platform for undergraduate students to unveil findings from their individual and team research projects.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-798\" alt=\"presentation-days-2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/about\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/05\/presentation-days-2.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"133\" \/>This year\u2019s projects explore a variety of topics, including alternative energy, hypersonic rocket design, biodiversity and the use of mathematical models to study tumor growth. They represent a breadth of scientific fields including engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, rocketry, medicine, mathematics and computation.<\/p>\n<p>Results from the Introduction to Engineering Design projects, involving teams of first-year and sophomore students, will also be presented.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day event will begin with a poster session at 9 a.m. Monday, May 6, in Platt Campus Center.
