{"id":7200,"date":"2019-01-31T10:09:50","date_gmt":"2019-01-31T18:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/about-hmc\/?p=7200"},"modified":"2019-01-31T10:10:38","modified_gmt":"2019-01-31T18:10:38","slug":"princeton-review-ranks-harvey-mudd-no-1-for-career-placement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/about\/2019\/01\/31\/princeton-review-ranks-harvey-mudd-no-1-for-career-placement\/","title":{"rendered":"Harvey Mudd No. 1 for Career Placement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Harvey Mudd College ranked No. 1 for \u201cBest Career Placement\u201d and No. 6 for \u201cTop 50 Colleges That Pay You Back\u201d in The Princeton Review\u2019s 2019 edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.princetonreview.com\/college-rankings\/best-value-colleges\"><em>The Best Value Colleges: 200 Schools with Exceptional ROI for Your Tuition Investment<\/em><\/a>, holding the same spots in both categories as in the previous year\u2019s edition.<\/p>\n<p>The Princeton Review selected colleges based on surveys of administrators and students during the 2017\u20132018 academic year on academics, tuition fees, financial aid, graduation rates, student debt, alumni salaries and career services. The education services company also used data from PayScale.com\u2019s surveys of alumni about their starting and mid-career salaries and job satisfaction.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Best Value Colleges<\/em> does not provide an overall ranking of the 200 colleges profiled in the book, but instead features seven categories of ranking lists. These include the list of \u201cTop 50 Colleges That Pay You Back\u201d and six lists naming the top 25 schools in special categories. Harvey Mudd appeared on three of the seven lists, also ranking No. 2 for \u201cTop 25 Best Value Colleges for Students With No Demonstrated Need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the 2018 edition, Harvey Mudd also ranked No. 1 for \u201cBest Career Placement\u201d and No. 6 for \u201cTop 50 Colleges That Pay You Back.\u201d The College has taken the top spot for career placement three out of the past four years.<\/p>\n<p>Harvey Mudd\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmc.edu\/career-services\/\">Office of Career Services (OCS)<\/a> assists students in every stage of career development, from selecting a major and searching for jobs and internships to exploring careers and researching graduate schools. The office organizes well-attended fall and spring career fairs, which connect students with more than 150 prospective employers per year, allowing them to forge relationships with industry participants and to secure jobs and internships.
