Welcome to Harvey Mudd College’s New Student Orientation 2013 website!

We’re glad that you’ve decided to make Mudd your home for the next four years. You may now officially consider yourself a Mudder.

Nearly everything you need to submit to the College this summer will soon be available from this website. Deadlines and received checklists will soon be posted. There is the Campus Map and the HMC Calendar which gives you all the important dates to keep in mind, including a very important date, Thursday August 29, 2013, which is when you arrive on campus!

From the Dean:

Welcome to the Harvey Mudd College family! We are preparing the campus and continuing to plan for the opening of the 2013-14 school year.

The Dean of Students office will be working closely with all incoming students throughout their HMC careers to ensure that they benefit as much as possible from their college experience.

Although we open at 8am on August 29, please note that the first Orientation activity begins at 12:15pm, allowing you the morning to move into your room. If you are driving to Claremont and need to arrive the evening prior to Orientation, please consult the website listing for accommodations. If you are flying, Ontario International Airport is much closer to HMC than Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Our office offers a  free shuttle service from Ontario Airport but space is limited.

We expect that you will receive your room assignment and roommate information in late July. Until then, have an enjoyable and relaxing summer.
We look forward to your arrival in late August.

We’re one of the only institutions in the nation that have a student led orientation and we are the 3 students that are planning it this year.
The experience here is not what you would find at your average college institution.
