Linde Dorme

Proctors:

Evann Gonzales

Evann Gonzales

Hello, everyone! I'm Evann, proctor of Linde Dorme for 2011-2012. Linde Dorme is the dorm that adds silent "e"s to words, knows that Ron is the Sausage King, and is the farthest from Ac End. Linde Dorme is made up of suites, in which either four or six people live in either singles or doubles and share a bathroom and a living room. This is especially excellent because freshman end up with sophomores, juniors, and/or seniors - forming a sort of family-style living situation. People like this because they are able to form suite identities and depend on each other for homework and other types of help.

I'm an engineering major, with a focus on sustainability and electricity. During my sophomore year, I was Co-President of Engineers for a Sustainable World / Mudders Organizing Sustainability Solutions (ESW/MOSS), which is Mudd's sustainability club and promotes responsible energy and food consumption. Over the summer of 2010, I traveled with a group to Kenya to install a solar power system to power an electric water pump and classroom lights at Kenya's only free secondary school. So, if you're interested in sustainability, come talk to me! In my free time, I also like to read, listen to music, lie in the sun, and socialize.

So, please come visit me! My door will always be open if you'd like to chat about anything, need some candy, or just want a hug! I'm super excited to meet all of you!

Lowell Reade

Lowell Reade

Hello!

I'm Lowell, the first floor proctor for Linde Dorme. I've been quite nomadic at Mudd, living in Sontag freshman year, Case sophomore year, South and abroad in Australia junior year, and now Linde, the best for last!

I am an engineering major, interested in civil and (aerospace) materials engineering. Besides that though, I'm passionate about social media, anything Apple related, and am considering heading to business school after Mudd to pursue a career in business development or marketing. I grew up in several countries, and graduated from high school in Tokyo, but I'm more or less from Palo Alto, CA. More Lowell 101: I've been one of the leaders of Prism, Mudd's queer and allied student group for the past couple of years. I love food and exploring for new restaurants (let's go eat somewhere yummy!). Come by anytime to chat!

Mentors:

Chris Abella

Chris Abella

Hey guys and girls. I’m Chris, mostly known as Target, and I’m going to be one of the mentors for Linde Dorme. We’re a ragtag bunch with a strong sense of pride in our home, as disheveled as it may be at times. We love loud music (we have had two in-dorme bands, and many large speakers), stadium-style tiered couches, and playing soccer in the dorme lounge late at night. Enjoy the suite lounges; they are a great place to work on homework, watch TV, or eat a snack. Take advantage of living with upperclassmen; they’ve probably been through most of what you are going to be going through in your time at Mudd, from classes to social stuff.

About me: I am an engineering major, but I don’t really know what I want to do with my life. Though I haven’t traveled as much as I want to, I love reading about travel. I also love to play basketball, eat/cook delicious food, and stumble around the internet. As a mentor for Uncommon Good, I work with at risk kids from the community to help them through the hardships of growing up. My favorite spot on campus is what I call the light show (it’s actually called a skyspace) where for two minutes every hour, you can stand in knee deep water and just stare up to see the ceiling glowing in the brightest hues, contrasted against a black square of night sky in the center. If you ever want to see it, just come find me and I’ll make sure you get there.

Kiley Sobel

Hi everyone!

Kiley Sobel

My name is Kiley, and I am one of the 2011-2012 Linde mentors! I'm so excited to live in Linde for another year. Linde is a mega-cool place with lots of DORME pride, community, and fun parties.
As for me, I'm a CS & Psychology major from Los Angeles, CA (specifically Calabasas/Woodland Hills). I love little kids and have had the awesome chance to work at The Children's School at CMC and play with three and four year olds all afternoon. I also love dressing up (possibly in crazy outfits), watching lots of TV and movies, listening to music, eating delicious foods, kickboxing, doing yoga, and acting super silly.
My room is in the southeast corner of Linde (right belo= Proctor Evann). Feel free to stop by ANYTIME for anything!  I can't wait to meet and get to know all of you underclassmen in Linde! :)

Brady Sutton

Brady

Hello there! I am Brady Sutton, one of the three mentors which will be helping out the First Years and Sophomores in Linde next year. The Mentors in the dorm are there to help the underclassman of their dorm, and I will be there to help you with your special relativity, feed you at 3 in the morning when you could be up doing special relativity, or just give you someone to talk to when you need it. Feel free to stop by Linde 216 any time you like!

Other than that, I am an engineering major in the class of 2013, and I hope that I can go on to be a Materials Engineer after I graduate. In my free time, I enjoy a wide variety of activities such as reading, playing video games (guilty as charged), and cooking. I am also a big outdoorsman, and I absolutely adore backpacking and I love to go open boat canoeing if I get the chance. And remember, if you are ever having trouble dealing with the stress that sometimes occurs during your first years at Harvey Mudd College, feel free to stop by my room!
