Status Updates
President – I will be gone next week for Saddle Rock retreat with Travis and Miranda. ASHMC will still meet. If you want the week off I will cancel the meeting.

VP – 18 frosh are running for honor board. The election will be on the new voting site.

Treasurer – I gave the money for Case directly to F&M. I have the letterhead designs, I want to run a vote this week. I’m gonna be abroad next semester, so we’ll need to find a new treasurer.
Mirrors For LAC
With the new platforms in the weight room, it is important for people to be able to examine their lifting techniques, especially for preventing injuries. We are requesting 4989.60 from the LTF, it will definitely last more than 5 years. This quote was given to us from F&M. If you want to fund this, that’s awesome, but we aren’t expecting you to fund all of it. The LAC can cover 1000 or 2000. We’d rather not though. Initially we were only going to get 6 mirrors, but the quote was cheaper than we expected. With mirrors on the back wall we can also turn the treadmills around. No mirrors have been broken.
What else do you use your budget for?
Most goes to the weight room. Our non-capital expenditure can go to equipment and maintenance.
Do you have any current plans for the rest of the money?
We’re a ¼ of the way through the year and 1/3 of our way through the LAC budget. We could always get new cardio machines, some of the ones we have are very old.
Where does F&M check for prices?
They compare a lot of places, they were still looking for quotes and they will update us if they find cheaper.
West – I think that the place that it’s most important for them to get mirrors is the wall with the free weights. I don’t think that having them all over the place is a necessary thing, if we gave them a third of this for the 6 mirrors that they need, then they could use non-capital for the rest of the mirrors that they want.

Librarian request
We recently moved to a new system for how librarians work at the 5Cs. They want a librarian email account on @hmc.edu. They would then be able to post on students-l. As a procedural thing we need to approve or disapprove.

West Speaker Fund
The speakers we have were bought in the 80s. One is busted and plays only low frequencies and the other is not great. We want to purchase new speakers. We are reserving dorm money for an ice machine. We pooled 90 dollars from the dorm. People could potentially come borrow them from us.
Do you have an amp?
Yes.
What if you guys don’t get these speakers?
That would suck.
Are you only buying cabinets?
They are the entire speaker set.

Tresurer – ASHMC has a tax ID and the bank needs that number, when ASHMC opens an account we give the bank that number. You get signing privileges on the account.
Dean Guy –Is there a letter sent for all the accounts when you change offices?
Treasurer – Sometimes we have trouble switching signers because IDs don’t match, signers don’t match, or they don’t like our letterhead.
Case – I still think there is a bigger issue with organization of accounts.
Social – One option is to close all the accounts and restart.
