VP – Don’t have people running for DB Chair, Athletics Chair, Senior Class President, or Treasurer. Some people gave me either a statement or a petition but not both.
I don’t know if we should have an election now without all of the candidates
Or if I should postpone the election
Hufsa- in the past, we just extend the deadline
And we postpone the election
Even if it’s against the constitution, it’s better than not having anyone run
Matt- I like the idea of extending it
Lindsay- does that mean the election will be after spring break?
Kiley- yes
CAP - late
Board of Trustees Student Affairs Committee (SAC) Update -- Hannah Groshong
Hannah- there’s been three meetings, and not much to report
We want to be more proactive
Dean Maggie and I have wanted to start getting the ball rolling
We’ve thought about getting students more involved with the trustees
We may have an informal meeting with local members
We’ll see how it turns out
We’ve also wanted to do a student presentation at the next community meeting
We’re thinking about having a freshman and a senior talk about their academics and what they’ve learned about their impact on society
Also, we’ve thought about having two representatives next year
Hufsa- I like the idea of having two representatives, since you have to represent the whole student body
I feel like you should have a larger number of students doing the presentation
Hannah- it might be difficult to find students still on campus by the next meeting
Budget Request: Delta H -- Matt Phillips
Matt – Delta H currently has $430 left
I tried to advertise for spring break trips
There’s not enough money to buy helmets for the trips
They’re really necessary and students won’t get their own
I’m requesting $300, but I really only need $261
It will need to go to student vote, so I’m hoping it can go on the next election
Margaret- How long will the helmets last?
Matt- unless someone falls on the them, they should last indefinitely
Matt leaves
Audrey – motion to put this on the ballot
Ryan – seconded
Margaret – Can this come out of the long term fund?
Kiley- and that wouldn’t require it to go to vote
Audrey- I remove my motion
Russell – Motion to give them $261 from LTF
Josh – seconded
