Sontag- Nothing new

North- Good. Dorm meeting was on Thursday. Had joint BBQ with East on Saturday

Case- Dorm meeting on Wednesday. Sing Along party will be soon

South- good

Linde- good. No major issues at Lingerie party

CAP- good

West- Dorm meeting on Thursday

Seniors- Good. Met with class presidents from other 4 C’s. Discussing end of year events

Athletics- good

Atwood- good

Sophomores- good

Freshmen- good

Juniors- good

DAC- Working on getting dorm evaluations out this week

Social- Good

VP’s- Good. 5C music festival on Oct. 24

Treasurer- good. Maybe changing bank to Wells Fargo. Signers will be done this week

East- good. Had dorm meeting this past week.

Sarah Ferraro- FRC Mentors Club Charter Approval

-FIRST is an organization that mentors high school students on building robots for robotics competition. There is a team in Diamond Bar that Mudd students could mentor. 20 other Mudd students interested. Would go down 3x a week for 6 week season. Would go in a few times before to teach them about engineering. Have hands off approach- teach high schoolers how to be leaders on their own. Hoping to expand to multiple high schools in the future.

Caro- Already have robotics club on campus. They already have some money. Thought about combining with them?

Sarah- Haven’t really thought about that.

Donald- All 20 would go to the high school each week?

Sarah- The more people we have, the more people can take shifts.

Audrey- Do anything besides the other 6 weeks?

Sarah- Planning engineering workshops in early November. After 6 weeks, go to the competition in April.

Donald- Have you talked to Science Bus?

Sarah- Geared toward different age group, and it’s larger time commitment. Most people in the meeting this morning are committed because participated in it in high school.

Donald- Overlap in membership?

Sarah- Only one person was in both.

Raffi- How did you find out about the team in Diamond Bar?

Sarah- Got email from Prof. Harris. Team contacted Prof. Dodds. I went over and had meeting with them.

Raffi- Have own funding?

Sarah- Yes, just need to provide technical support.

Zack Purdy- SportSHMC budget request

-Want to start community of sports fans.

-Meetings to watch games and eat snacks.

-Sent email out to students-l to get interest.

Maureen- Mostly frosh replied?

Zack- Mostly.

Raffi- Have you had an event yet?

Zack- Yes. Turnout was 10 people.

Donald- Thought about doing internal fund raising?

Zack- Not yet. Based on turnout, we can think about other ideas.

Maureen- What was event?

Zack- Watched Chargers game last Sunday.

Shawn- Where did you come up with $2/week/person?

Zack- Basic estimation of chips and drinks.

Donald- Based on this, 7 people?

Zack- Hoping to get 15 people.

Donald- In LAC? How about Galileo?

Zack- Yeah. And want to use blow up screens. Didn’t know we could use Galileo, sure.

FRC Mentors Club

Maureen- Does it need to be connected to Robotics Club?

Julian- Not related.

Caro- Haven’t done anything with Robotics Club yet this yeawr. Have big Shanahan fund or some other fund. Want to let them be able to use it.

Maureen- They can request money from robotics

SportSHMC Budget Request

Maureen- New club. Don’t feel completely comfortable giving them the full amount of money.

Elly- If buy snacks in bulk, don’t need that much money.

Emma- Didn’t do enough research.

Raffi- Will throw bigger events.

Julian- But every dorm does its own super bowl event.

Margaret- They’re frosh- they might not know that.

Donald- Are there other clubs like this that we have funded? Social clubs? Clubs that mostly throw parties?

Strieter- Can look it up.

Donald- Is there something in the constitution on what defines a club?

Maureen- If you ever want money

Shawn- FNMG died. $200 was fine for that. Reasonable for a start number. Could even be lower. Could get food from the Hoch.

Maureen- Let’s have them hold a couple more meetings and come back and have more numbers.

Donald- Give $150. Can come back and ask for more if wish to
