Life in the Mudd

You know HMC means a soul-expanding dive into the deep end of the intellectual pool. (If not, check out our academics.) But what about life outside the classroom?

Well, a lot of the same rules apply.

It’s not solitary

At HMC, you join a community of like minds who collaborate inside the classroom and out. You’ll immerse yourself in residential life, share meals, gather for informal study sessions and maybe even participate in occasional collegial high spirits (read: pranks). And if you ever need to just get away, you’ve got all of The Claremont Colleges as your own personal playground.

It’s not kid stuff

We expect great things from our students, and that includes trusting them to behave with maturity and integrity. Our trust is so strong that we’ve put issues of academic and social integrity in the hands of our students. It’s the Honor Code, and it’s an important part of the HMC experience.

It's fun. Really fun

From a vibrant arts scene to top-notch student athletics, there’s plenty to do on campus. Our event calendar is full to the brim with great things to see and do, or you can join one of our student organizations or hone your leadership skills in student government.

And we’ll be there with you, every step of the way, with a range of services designed to make sure you make the most of your HMC experience.
