Alumni Weekend 2011: Specialty Receptions

Alumni Weekend is a special time for the HMC community. We have designed a weekend of activities based on feedback we received from you. In addition to some of the Alumni Weekend traditions--Scripps Wine Tasting (featuring wine from alumni vintners), the Emeriti Faculty Picnic Lunch on Saturday and Shakespeare in T-G Courtyard--you’ll also find some new activities that we expect will have broad appeal.

This year on Friday afternoon of Alumni Weekend (April 29), we are featuring three specialty receptions:

Bates Aero and Barnstormer Alumni

Join Iris, Critch and members of the Barnstormers past and present for a fun afternoon of reminiscing and reveling in stories from the history of the aeronautics program. There will be an update on the Iris Critchell memoir/biography project, which is well under way. Also, we hope to have the flight simulator available.

HMCEN with Gary Evans

Professor Evans will provide an update on all HMC Entrepreneurial Network (HMCEN) activities and successes. Get together with fellow Mudders and entrepreneurs to share real-life trials and successes. Share your own success stories (and not-so-successful stories that we can all learn from!).

5th-Year Master's in Engineering Alumni

Join Engineering Chair Zee Durón ’81 for a discussion of how the practice of the engineering profession has changed and what HMC's engineering program is doing to maintain technical competency and relevance in our program and in our graduates.
