HMC
Alumni Weekend Is Right Around the Corner

Alumni Weekend 2010, set this year for April 30 through May 2, promises to have something fun for everyone.

More than 400 people are expected to attend this year's celebration, making it an excellent time to see old friends and visit with favorite faculty members.

Participants will have an opportunity to take in a Shakespearean play, investigate alumni career service resources, purchase HMC memorabilia and take advantage of alumni expertise.

Interested in our energy future? Come to Alumni College on Friday to hear a variety of discussions on the topic—from student projects in Iceland and Kenya to on-campus energy audits to new technologies in solar sell development and more.

Along with host Gary Evans, professor and director of the HMC Entrepreneurial Network, Tom Wanne ’90 and his brother Theo, co-owners of Theo Wanne Classic Mouthpieces, will make a presentation at the Entrepreneurial Network Meeting and Reception on Friday afternoon.

Have lunch with faculty chairs, taste wine with Scripps College alumnae, watch the annual student Shakespeare Play or attend receptions for Bates alumni or Legacy Society members. Also on Friday, there will be a jazz "jam" and Media Studio presentation.

Saturday will include an "open house" for the new teaching and learning building, departmental tours, lunch with faculty, more wine tasting, an update from President Maria Klawe and the annual HMC Alumni Association Awards Ceremony, which will precede an all-class reception before alumni break away to separate reunion dinners or to a "non-reunion" dinner.
