The Harvey Mudd College Sailing Club's fleet currently consists of one Flying Junior (FJ) , one Laser, and one 30' Shields, the Mildred. We enjoy sailing all of these as often as we can.
The Mildred, named for Harvey Mudd's wife, Mildred, was donated to us quite a few years ago by Cornelius Shields, so the plaque in the boat says. The Mildred is moored at the Intercollegiate Sailing Base in Newport Beach, California. About a 45 minute drive from the Harvey Mudd College campus in Claremont.
