HMC Bridge Club
Welcome to the website of the Harvey Mudd College Bridge Club! Whether you are a bridge veteran looking up information or a beginner trying to figure out what bridge club is all about (or for that matter, what bridge itself is all about), it is our hope that you will find this website to be helpful. So enjoy your stay, and once again, welcome to our website! :-)

What is bridge club?

We are a group of students at HMC who share an interest in playing a wonderful card game known as bridge. We cater to everyone, from experts looking to sharpen their skills to beginners who are just starting to learn what the game is all about. The club meets regularly to give people an opportunity to play the game. During these meetings, we also offer lessons to beginners and intermediates. Additionally, the club provides members with various resources, from information about bridge establishments outside of the colleges, to information about tournaments, to a small library of books and other documents that will help both experts and beginners alike improve their game. Finally, we are also hoping to organize off-campus activities. The bridge club at Caltech has challenged us to a tournament, and since there is an ACBL-sanctioned bridge establishment less than three miles from here, we are also hoping to play a few ACBL-sanctioned games.

Meetings

For the 2003-2004 school year, we are meeting at 9:00 PM every Tuesday and Thursday in the lounge outside of Case 203 (i.e., 2nd story lounge in the wing of Case that faces Atwood). Both gameplay and beginning lessons will take place at these meetings. There is no set duration to each meeting of the club; it'll go on for as long as people are willing. Feel free to come by at any time during the meeting; if you can't make it at 9, that's okay. Sign up on the mailing list or check this website for any updates to our schedule.

Resources

Aside from meeting to play, bridge club is also about providing various resources. If you haven't already noticed from the menu on the left, we maintain a small online library as well as a resource page. So check them out. :-)
