HMC
Projects and Presentation Days Will Be Held May 4-6

Apr 24, 2009 - Claremont, Calif. - Harvey Mudd College (HMC) will host its 39th annual Projects and Presentation Days, a special showcase of undergraduate student research and Clinic projects, May 4 through May 6, at HMC. All events are free and open to the public.

With emphasis on student achievements, this community event will highlight research done in the context of individual projects with faculty advisors. Research is an integral part of the education students receive at HMC. The ability to conduct original investigations, plan an approach to a problem and see it through is essential to success in any scholarly endeavor.

All of the students' showcased research is part of either class projects or with the Clinic Program, an internationally recognized hallmark of HMC that engages juniors and seniors in the solution of real-world, technical problems for industrial clients. Founded as an innovation in engineering education in 1963, the Clinic Program has been expanded to other HMC academic departments and copied by institutions worldwide. This year, there are 38 Clinic projects being carried out for 36 companies.

Schedules of events during the three days are available here:
