The Math Department's Demo Lab, an interdisciplinary lab created by Jon Jacobsen, was recently featured as the “Video Pick of the Week.” Science Friday featured the Chladni (klad-ni) Plate demo which illustrates fundamental modes of vibration. The initial demos were developed in collaboration with Austin Rutledge (engineering '07) and Katie Elisio (mathematics '08), with further models, including the Chladni Plate demo, built in collaboration with Hyung Joo Park (physics '08) and Hendrik Orem (mathematics '09). The video has been viewed over 19,000 times.
