Apr 16, 2010 - Claremont, CA - High school seniors making their final decisions about where to attend college may want to consider this: Harvey Mudd College was recently voted one of the happiest colleges in the U.S. Harvey Mudd ranked fifth on a list of America's 100 happiest colleges, published by online magazine The Daily Beast. Colleges were judged on seven criteria: campus housing, nightlife, average graduate indebtedness, freshman retention rate, campus dining, number of student clubs and organizations, and amount of sunshine. Despite its rigorous curriculum, HMC did not make The Daily Beast's list of 50 most stressed-out colleges, though there was some crossover between the two lists. Claremont McKenna College ranked #1 for Happiest College, Pomona College was #3, Scripps followed Mudd at #6, and Pitzer ranked #22. For the full list, visit The Daily Beast.
