Concert Features Music of Dizzy Gillespie

Dec 11, 2007 - Claremont, Calif. - A free jazz concert featuring the music of John Birks ("Dizzy") Gillespie (photo, right) and performed by students of HMC's Jazz Improvisation course will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 8:30 p.m. in the Platt Campus Center Green Room at Harvey Mudd College. Light refreshments will be provided.

Tunes to be performed are:

  6. You Must Remember Diz'
  7. Manteca

All tunes are by Dizzy Gillespie, except number six, which is by Robert M. "Bob" Keller, Csilla and Walt Foley Professor of Computer Science at Harvey Mudd College and instructor, Music 84: Jazz Improvisation.
