
Jun 14, 2010 - Claremont, CA - Students from Harvey Mudd College and from the
Birla Institute of Technology in India are working to put solar energy
to practical use in a new HMC Global Clinic project.
The collaboration between the six students over the next year will address the challenge of finding a way to harness solar energy to benefit impoverished and rural citizens of India. The project is especially intended for areas of the country not connected to a power grid. HMC students Hufsa Ahmad, Jennifer Lee and Andrew Xue will be working with BIT students Siddharth Menon, Siddharth Murarka and Abhishek Sadany, who are currently on the HMC campus conducting joint research.
