HMC
Clinic Program Begins With Orientation Day

Aug 29, 2007 - Claremont, Calif. - Harvey Mudd College’s innovative and renowned Clinic Program will begin the 2007-08 year with its annual Orientation Day event for Clinic sponsor liaisons, HMC faculty advisors, Clinic directors, staff and more than 30 student teams on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007.

A luncheon event will be held at the Linde Activities Center, with Adam Bernstein of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory providing the keynote address. This year’s Clinic directors are professors Patrick Little, engineering; Richard Haskell, physics; Andrew Bernoff, mathematics; Robert Keller, computer science; and Shenda Baker, Global Clinic.

Every year since the mid-1960s, Harvey Mudd College has celebrated the initiation of its Clinic Program activities with Orientation Day, which marks the first time Clinic sponsor liaisons get an opportunity to meet their Clinic teams and start planning the projects that culminate in May with Projects Day.

By the time Projects Day rolls around in May 2008, more than 1,200 projects will have been completed since the program was initiated in the mid-1960s, with more than 300 sponsors providing challenging projects for Mudd students.
