Feb 26, 2006 - Claremont, Calif. - Harvey Mudd College's (HMC) student chapter of Society of Women Engineers will welcome female high school students in the area to visit campus and participate in a day of science and engineering workshops, and get a flavor of being a female scientist for the day on Saturday, Mar. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The annual Women Engineers and Scientists of Tomorrow (WEST) conference articipants will have the opportunity to attend two workshops presented by female professors at HMC: one workshop in engineering and another workshop in either biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics or physics. Attending students are allowed a chance to listen and question a panel of current female HMC students from each of the college's majors. In addition, the lunch and break times will provide opportunities for participants to visit with professors and current students. Lunch and snacks are provided.
