Oct 23, 2006 - Claremont, Calif. - Archambault will begin his duties January 2, 2007, succeeding interim Vice President for College Advancement Charles Rasberry. Archambault begins his service at HMC during a time of assessment, planning and advancement as the vision resulting from the strategic planning initiative HMC2020: Envisioning the Future unfolds. He will join President Maria Klawe in guiding HMC towards opportunity and achievement. "I'm very excited to have the opportunity to serve as the new vice president for college advancement of Harvey Mudd College," said Archambault. "I'm a strong believer in the potential impact of blending the insights one gains from the study of math, science and engineering with those from social sciences and humanities. This is just the sort of superb education that Harvey Mudd provides its students, equipping them to become future leaders. I feel honored to join the team that helps make that possible." Archambault comes to HMC with many years of experience in directing fundraising and advancement efforts. He has been at Purdue since 2000, beginning as the director of advancement and alumni relations in the university’s Department of Biological Sciences. Prior to that, he was the associate director of grants and contracts at the University of Houston. He also held the posts of executive director of the W.M. Keck Center for Computational Biology in Houston, public information officer for the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge and promotions manager in the marketing department of the University of Chicago Press. Archambault is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences and a former representative to the Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Council at Purdue. He earned his B.A. degree in physics and English (magna cum laude) and holds a certificate in fundraising managment (CFRM).
