Feb 27, 2006 - Claremont, Calif. - re you an entrepreneur or aspire to be one? If so, plan to join the Harvey Mudd College Entrepreurial Network for the next Entrepreneurial Conference on the HMC campus on Saturday, April 1, 2006. To register, visit www.hmcen.org/register.php. This is a great opportunity to discover which Mudders are currently involved in entrepreneurial adventures and to explore whether you should be, too. Join us as we honor Joe Costello '74, CEO of think3, as the HMC Entrepreneur of the Year. Under Costello's leadership, think3, one of the most innovative product design and development companies in the world, has grown to $40 million in annual sales. In 1997, Chief Executive magazine named Costello the top performing CEO of all publicly traded companies in North America. He also made Upside magazine's 1997 "Elite 100" list of the top executives leading the digital revolution. Costello holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and physics from Harvey Mudd College, a master of science degree in physics from Yale University and a master of science degree in physics from the University of California, Berkeley. Find out what it takes to bootstrap a company, how to build an effective team in an entrepreneurial organization, what you need to know about marketing and sales (are you a hunter or a gatherer?), learn what venture capitalists are looking for these days and listen to three Mudd-connected businesses pitch their ventures. Participants are encouraged to bring product samples, leaflets, brochures or other materials to display at the conference. Contact Pat Di Paola at pat_dipaola@hmc.edu for details.
