Description:
The SprintScan 35 allows you to scan color or black and white slides.
How to scan a slide
Go to Start, Polaroid SprintScan 35, SprintScan
35 Direct. This should bring up the following two
windows:
SprintScan 35 - Control Panel
SprintScan 35 - Preview Screen
Select the film type by clicking on Film... in the Control
Panel. If you don't know which film type to choose, use
_generic.cp.
Select the proper options for Image Type, which can be Color or
Grayscale, and Media, which is usually 35mm Portrait (for tall images)
or 35mm Landscape (for wide images).
You can adjust the Scanner Resolution, which is the detail at
which the scanner scans the image. Scale links the Scanner Resolution
to the Output Resolution, and is generally set to 100%. The output
width and height are set by the white box in the Preview screen. Lock
output just means that all values in the Output sub-window cannot be
changed indirectly.
Place the slide in the hole on the top of the slide scanner.
You'll have to push a little to get it in.
To scan a preview, click on the Preview button.
After the slide has been scanned, select the part of the preview
you want to save by adjusting the white box in the Preview window.
You can visualize the clipping of this area by clicking on the two,
top-left buttons in the Preview window:
SprintScan 35 - Preview Screen (no clipping)
SprintScan 35 - Preview Screen (clipping)
When you've contained the picture you want in the white box, click
on Scan, which will then ask you how and under what name you
want to store the image. If you wish to use Photoshop, I'd recommend
using the standard TIFF format, since its purpose is for images such
as these.
