The Epson Expression 1600 Scanner allows you to scan images, such as
photos and pages of text.

Scanning an image in Photoshop
If you scan an image using Photoshop, you can edit the image to
use in whatever document you would like. Your finished product can be
any image format you choose.
- Open Photoshop by selecting Programs, Adobe, and then Photoshop from the
Start Menu.
- From the File menu select Import . Twain 32.
- A window will appear that gives you the scanning options. You
want to choose appropriate settings from the source and destination menus.
- Select an appropriate resolution. Remember a higher resolution
will
create a file that is very large and will be slow to scan. Make sure
to check how large it tells you the file will be before you scan the
image.
- You can use the Preview option to select what should be scanned,
otherwise the entire scanner area will be scanned.
- Select Scan to scan your image.
- When it is done, your image will load in Photoshop. You can now
edit your image.
- Save your file, and you are done.

open TextBridge.

TextBridge. Use the mouse to highlight the text you want saved into
your new document.

- You will have the option of selecting the destination file and
what
format you would like your document in. When you are finished you can
open your document in a word processor to edit it.

Resource
Center. The scanners in the miscellaneous computer lab will not scan
transparent documents easily.

part of the scanning bed.

There are guides for 35 mm film, 35 mm slides, 4 by 5 inch film, and
120-size or 220-size film.
