How do I digitally scan text, photographs, or other images?

Do you wish to scan...
  • ...slides?

    Picture of the Slide Scanner

To scan a color or black and white slide, you can use the slide scanner shown above (called the SprintScan 35). Just plop your slide in the hole, do a few mouse clicks, and you have a digitally scanned image of the slide!

You can also use the Epson Expression 1600 flatbed scanner with the slide guides to scan slides. The Epson scanner will give you better resolution on your scans than the slide scanner will, but you may find it more difficult to set up the Epson scanner to scan slides.

  • ...other images (like text, prints, film, etc.)?

To scan an image, such as text from a book, a photograph, or a newspaper article, you can use the desk scanner (Epson Expression 1600). In just a few minutes, you can have images scanned for your lectures, articles, Web site, etc.
