To change your Charlie password in the PC Lab:
Make sure that the system you are using to change
your Charlie password is joined to the HMC domain. All of
the academic computing labs are joined.
- After logging in, press
Ctrl + Alt + Del. Your
desktop and all your applications should disappear and a window will
appear in the center of the screen. Click on Change Password.
- Enter your old password in the space provided.
- Enter your new password. Then enter your new password again in
order to verify it. Click
OK.
- After you are done changing your password, click on
Cancel in the NetWare Security Window to return to the desktop.
Note: There is currently no way to change your Charlie password from outside
of the CIS computer labs.
To change your Charlie password in the Macintosh Lab:
- Open the Go menu in the top bar of the screen and select Connect to
Server....
- In the left box of the window that pops up select HMC_MACS and
then in the right box select CHARLIE.
- Click Connect.
- When the login name and password prompt comes up, check to make sure the
upper-left corner says Windows 2000 Server, indicating that the
Microsoft UAM is installed. If not take the following steps:
- Enter your Charlie username and password and press OK.
- Select the Microsoft UAM Volume and click OK.
- Open the MSUAM_for_X folder.
- Double click the Install MSUAM for X and follow the on-screen
instructions.
- When this is done Microsoft Authentication will automatically be selected
whenever you connect to Charlie. Repeat steps 1-3 and then continue
below.
- Type in your Charlie login name and then click the Change
Password... button in the lower left corner of the window.
- Next you will be asked for your old password and your new password, as well
as a verification of your new password.
- Once you have filled these out click OK and you are done.
