If the PC you wish to log in from does not already have an SSH client installed I would recommend downloading PuTTY, a free telnet and SSH client for Windows. Once you have downloaded PuTTY, the steps to logon are almost identical to using telnet in the PC Labs.

  1. Open PuTTY and set the Protocol to SSH.
  2. In the Host Name dialog box type odin.ac.hmc.edu.

  3. Click Open.
  4. Enter your Odin login name and password when prompted.

  5. You are now logged into Odin. For a quick intro to using Odin read CIS' UNIX Basics page.
  6. When you are done type logout and exit PuTTY.
