  1. Log on to the UNIX machine using Telnet or SSH (for details, see Using Telnet in the Labs ).
  2. At the command line type the command: passwd
  3. The system will prompt you for your old password. Once you have typed in your old password the system will then prompt for the new password. You will be prompted for the new password a second time in order to verify it.
