Computing and Information Services currently owns two laser disc
players. They can be borrowed from the Audiovisual Office by filling out
the AV Request Form .
To use the laser disc player in the Galileo Auditoriums and in
Beckman Auditorium you will need:
- Laser disc player.
- Audio cables.
- Video cable.
Instructions:
- Plug in laser disc player for power. Movie (~1 MB)
- Plug in one end of audio cables into audio out jacks in the laser
disc player (L and R jacks). Plug in the other end of the cables into
the wall socket labeled Audio in (L
and R). Movie (~3.5 MB)
- Plug in one end of video cable into video out jack in the laser
disc player. Then plug in the other end into the wall socket labeled Video in. Movie (~3.5 MB)
- Press the Projector Power button on the wall panel to turn on the
projector. (in Beckman Auditorium use the remote control instead). Movie (~700 KB) (Galileo Pryne/Edwards) (Galileo McAlister)
- Wait for the projector to warm up. Movie (~1.5 MB)
- Press "Source Select" then "Aux" on the touchscreen in Galileo
McAlister (Movie (~500 KB)), or
press the "Aux" button in Pryne or Edwards (Movie (~700 KB)). In
Beckman Auditorium press "Aux" on the remote control.
- Use the "Program Volume" controls to adjust the volume (In Galileo
McAlister Use the touchscreen controls (Movie
(~500 KB)))
- Turn on the laser disc player.
- Put in the laser disc and press play. Movie (~1.5 MB)
To use the laser disc player with a TV you will need:
- Laser disc player.
- Audio cables.
- Video cables.
- TV.
Instructions:
- Plug in laser disc player and TV for power.
- Plug in audio cables (L and R) into audio out jacks in the laser
disc player. Plug in the other end of the cables into the audio in
jacks on the TV.
- Plug in the video cable into the video out jack in the laser disc
player. Plug in the other end of the cable into the video in jack on
the TV.
- Turn the TV and laser disc player on.
- Make sure you have the TV on the correct channel.
- Put in the laser disc and press play.
