To use a DVD Player in the classroom you will need:

  1. Television set
  2. DVD player
  3. Antenna cable hook ups
  4. Audio and video cables
  5. Remote control

Instructions

  1. Hook up cables from DVD player to TV (Audio out to audio in and video out to video in).
  2. Plug in TV and DVD player.
  3. Turn TV and DVD player on.
  4. Put DVD in DVD player. Movie (~2 MB)
  5. Press play.

Using a DVD player with the video projector in Galileo McAlister

You will need:

  • DVD player (available from A/V office)
  • Audio and video cables (available from A/V office)

Instructions

  1. Attach the DVD player's audio and video out connectors to the Audio and Video connectors in the wall using the audio and video cables. Movie (~4 MB)
  2. Put the DVD in the DVD player.
  3. Press the touchscreen control panel on the wall to turn on the touchscreen. Movie (~150 KB)
  4. Press the screen again to bring up the controls. Press the Projector Power button to turn on the projector. Movie (~1 MB)
  5. The screen will tell you that the projector is warming up. Wait for the projector to turn on. This should take about 30 seconds. Movie (~1.5 MB)
  6. Press "Select Source" on the touchscreen.
  7. Press "Aux" Movie (~500 KB)
  8. Press the Volume Control button.
  9. You will see a screen with two bars on it labelled "Program volume" and "Microphone volume." Slide your finger across the Program volume bar to raise or lower the volume. Movie (~500 KB)
  10. Press Play on the DVD player. Movie (~2 MB)
  11. Important: Remember to turn off the projector when you are done. Movie (~700 KB)

Using a DVD player with the video projector in Galileo Edwards or Pryne

You will need:

  • DVD player (available from A/V office)
  • Audio and video cables (available from A/V office)

Instructions:

  1. Attach the DVD player's audio and video out connectors to the Audio and Video connectors on the wall using the audio and video cables. Movie (~4 MB)
  2. Put the DVD in the DVD player.
  3. Find the wall panel controls. Make sure that the system power is turned on (the light is on).
  4. Press the "Projector Power" button to turn on the projector. Movie (~700 KB)
  5. Wait for the projector to warm up and turn on. This should take about 30 seconds. Movie (~1.5 MB)
  6. Press the "Aux" button from the source selector buttons. Movie (~700 KB)
  7. Use the Program Volume controls to set the volume.
  8. Press "Play" on the DVD player. Movie (~2 MB)
  9. Important: Remember to turn off the projector when you are done. Movie (~150 KB)

Using a DVD player in Beckman Auditorium

You will need:

  1. DVD player.
  2. Audio cables.
  3. Video cable.

Instructions:

  1. Plug in the DVD player for power.
  2. Plug in one end of audio cables into audio out jacks in the DVD player (L and R jacks). Plug in the other end of the cables into the wall socket labeled AUX audio in (L and R).
  3. Plug in one end of video cable into video out jack in the DVD player. Then plug in the other end into the wall socket labeled AUX video in.
  4. Press "Power" on the remote control to turn on the projector.
  5. Wait for it to warm up.
  6. Press "Aux" on the remote control.
  7. Turn on the DVD player.
  8. Put in the DVD and press play.
