If you are studying to enter one of the following fields, you may be able to take advantage of the federal government’s loan forgiveness programs such as:

• Teachers: The Loan Cancellation/Deferment Programs for Teachers offers loan forgiveness for teachers in a low-income school or in a teacher-shortage area, or in special education.
• Child Care Providers: The Child Care Provider Loan Forgiveness Program allows borrowers whose loans were made after October 7, 1998, and who meet specific  criteria to have their loans forgiven
• Nurses: The Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP) offers assistance with the repayment of educational loans in exchange for service in eligible facilities located in areas experiencing a shortage of nurses.
