For many students, part of the financial assistance package includes a loan. The good news is that the education loans provided through our financial aid program offer low interest rates and repayment terms designed with students in mind. In fact, in most cases, you won’t have to start repaying your loan until six to nine months after you graduate. At HMC, the default rate on student loans at HMC is 0 percent—which is compelling testimony to the affordability of loans for attending HMC.
What’s more, there are loans for students and loans for parents that you and your family can take advantage of even if you don’t qualify for need-based aid. Before taking out a loan, either from our HMC’s Lender Reference List or from some other source, make sure you understand our Code of Conduct for Educational Loans and all the issues surrounding loan repayment.
Please Note: There are private education loans avaiable for students who are not eligible for our Educational Loans. Since Harvey Mudd College does not have a Preferred Lender Arrangement for private education loans. We do provide a Sample Disclosure for Private Education Loan.
